Interaction

El Lissitzky’s paintings were part of revolutionary times and influenced architectural thought for ages to come. People have only seen his paintings as objects in frames. Why not be able to occupy the painting? How would El Lissitzky have visualized his painting in three dimensions? My proposal seeks to create a sculpture that can be moved through and interacted with. By projecting onto the metallic sculpture views of town and country and the abolishing of the boundaries between the two, viewers will be able to create a new relationship with the sculptural object every time they view it. The materiality and interest of this object will create a new vision of El Lissitzky embodied within the many facets of this sculpture.
