Отражения

Проект обыгрывает идею отражения. «Черный квадрат» Казимира Малевича стал поворотной точкой в развитии русского авангарда и, таким образом, выглядит как естественная отправная точка для создания проекта. Черный квадрат превращается в 3D-объект.

Вода, струящаяся по статичному фасаду черного квадрата, придает ему новые характеристики. Для наблюдателя это выглядит как бесконечная чёрная пустота без какого-либо намёка на то, насколько глубока вода. Черная вода отражает окружение и контекст, в то время как внутренняя динамика чёрного квадрата остается прежней пустотой.

Reflections 

As the title suggests this design plays on the idea of reflections for the architectural concept of ‘the symbolic object of city environment dedicated to Russian avant-garde’. The Black Square painted by Kazimir Malevich was the turning point in the development of the Russian avant-garde and thus felt like a natural starting point for a proposal, which aims to embrace and remember this important period in Russian art.

Malevich describes the black “square as equal to feeling”, and that “all paths lead to the image”. The idea that the black is a “full void” is played upon by turning the black square into a three-dimensional object and filling it with water. The static façade of the black square takes on new characteristics with the insertion of fluid material on its top plane. To the viewer it appears as an endless black void without any indication as to how deep the water actually is. This black water reflects it’s surroundings and context while the inner dynamic of the black square remain the same, a void.
