Urban Landscape

El Lissitzky attempted to provide a link between painting and architecture by his Proun series. By his paintings which combined basic forms grouped together and utilized shifting axes he created multiple spatial perspectives.

We picked up this idea and transferred one of his drawings into a threedimensional sculpture. We created a usable sculpture in front of the main station of Novosibirsk. The sculpture shall be experienced by approaching it from all around, by entering it, using it and becoming a part of it. You can sit, meet or relax here.

Our object reflects the contemporary discourse about the appropriation of the city as a living space. It is a public space freely accessible for everybody that can get a private or semi-public character by the interaction of the people using it.
